FY10 Federal Funding Campaign
We recently concluded our Appropriations Campaigns in the House and Senate. 131 Members of the House and 38 Members of the Senate supported our request for $10 million in FY10, a tremendous success given this difficult budget year.

Prescribe a Book Act
The Prescribe a Book Act would authorize a competitive grant program to support pediatric early literacy programs. During the 110th Congress, 40 Senators and 32 Representatives cosponsored the legislation. We are reintroducing the Prescribe a Book Act during the 111th Congress, and will be seeking cosponsors in the coming weeks and months. The lead sponsors in the Senate are Senators Jack Reed (RI) and Charles Grassley (IA), and in the House are Congressmen Donald Payne (NJ-10) and Mark Souder (IN-3).
Hill Day 2009
In March, more than 80 Reach Out and Read Field Leaders, Medical Directors and Staff gathered in Washington D.C. for ROR's 6th annual Capitol Hill Day. We conducted more than 300 meetings with Members of Congress and their staff to educate them about ROR and to ask for their help with our federal funding efforts.
