before Labor Day.

Every donation to ROR, no matter the size, has a significant impact on the lives of the families and communities we serve.

Each child who participates in Reach Out and Read will start kindergarten with a home library of up to 10 books, and with parents who understand the importance of reading.

Since the first Reach Out and Read book was handed out in Los Angeles in 1997, more than 851 pediatricians, family practitioners, pediatric / family nurse practitioners, and physician assistants have been trained in the ROR model.

Today, ROR LA partners with 118 clinics including small community health centers, inner city clinics, Kaiser Permanente clinics, large urban teaching hospitals, and private practices, focusing on children growing up in poverty.

Help inspire the next generation of readers. Your donation helps:

• Purchase new books for babies (chewable board books) and more complex storybooks for preschoolers;
• Cover ROR LA’s operating budget;
• Enable the Regional Coordinator to visit 89 ROR Programs with new books and technical assistance.
