Talkbook

An important part of our work is helping our program sites, the doctor's offices that sign on and train to participate in the ROR model, access the books they need to provide their patients with new developmentally appropriate books at every well-visit from six months through age 5.

Some of our sites are creative and resourceful in fundraising to boost their own supply of books, but our state office provides the vast majority of all books distributed across the state. In total since our program's inception our doctors have distributed 1,407,096 books in Georgia!

Throughout November and December 2016, we ordered 31,853 of which 12,498 of those were for program sites in metro Atlanta.  Some of the titles include Babies Love, My Family, My Body, Eating Well, The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, The Big Hungry Bear, Maisy Learns to Swim, Who Lives in the Sea and At the Zoo to name just a few. Our purchase included close to 70 different titles.

We also ordered 1,500 Talk With Me books for our GA DOPH Home Visitation program sites, which include Children's Medical Services, Children 1st, Perinatal Home Visitation Program, Babies Can't Wait, Heart of Georgia Healthy Start, and Strong Parents. These books will also support our Project Launch sites in Muscogee county.
