Read Romp + Rock at the Roxy We celebrated our 3rd annual Read Romp + Rock at the Roxy nightclub on March 7th. Nearly 350 friends, supporters, and fans attended the event and helped us raise $420,000 for Reach Out and Read. Guests enjoyed a short speaking program about ROR that included Super Bowl Champion Troy Brown and a surprise live auction of walk-on roles in the movie "Bride Wars" by Producer/Director Sam Weisman. The program was followed by dinner, games, and lots of dancing.   The event also featured our signature "Celebrity Reader Raffle" which raised over $33,000! We raffled off reading experiences with a number of greats from Boston, including Red Sox First Baseman Kevin Youkilis, Troy Brown, Alice Hoffman, celebrity Chef Ming Tsai, and many more. A special thank you goes out to our event co-chairs, committee, sponsors, attendees, and raffle participants, for making this Read Romp + Rock a huge success. Over the past three years, Read Romp + Rock has raised a total of $1.07 million, helping ROR serve more children throughout the country.
