The book options for ROR programs keep expanding, making more quality books available at even greater savings. The 2007-2008 Catalog has a cleaner design and a greater selection of books in more languages. We are pleased to offer books in French and Khmer as well as new board books in the twelve languages previously available. The catalog cover art was taken from a wonderful new book with special significance to ROR. Maybe a Bear Ate It! is an endearing tale of what happens when a beloved book is temporarily lost. And be on the lookout for your site's Maybe A Bear Ate it! poster, arriving shortly thanks to the generosity of Scholastic and suitable for framing for your clinic. (An announcement of the shipping date will be posted on myROR.org) Other book options currently available are the Scholastic Value Pack and the All About Books' Core Pack which are described on the most recent Progress Report. The MBLT sustainability and start-up options were developed by the ROR National Center to help you save money and save time with book ordering. Both Scholastic and All About Books have created collections of books, divided by age and available in either English or Spanish/bilingual groupings, to keep prices well below the ROR average of $2.75 per book. We are thrilled to announce that every ROR site will receive a special book donation this year from Scholastic Book Club's ClassroomsCare Program. Every ROR site around the country will receive a special box containing a gift of 50 books for use in your program. Scholastic Book Clubs' ClassroomsCare is a pro-literacy charity program. Every September for the last eight years, Scholastic Book Clubs has offered the same simple challenge to classrooms across the country: "Read 100 books and we will donate 100 books!" Since its launch, ClassroomsCare has donated over 7 million brand new books to children. Additionally, because participating classrooms must complete 100 books in order to trigger donations, ClassroomsCare students are instilled with a sense of empowerment through reading. Scholastic Book Clubs shares ROR's belief that reading is essential to every child's well-being. Through the donation and distribution of books, ClassroomsCare and ROR are working together to give more children the gift of reading. Scholastic is updating the ROR Scholastic Online Store for easier use. You will soon be able to purchase large books, bookmarks and other ROR materials through the Scholastic Online Store.
