Reach Out and Read recently redesigned and modernized our training curriculum, including the creation of a new training program that will be available as an online CME Course. The new training program incorporates video vignettes of Reach Out and Read in the exam room to help both new and experienced providers get a real sense of the possibilities that books and literacy guidance offer in primary care. It is our hope that this course will be of value both to new ROR providers, learning how to carry out the intervention, and also to experienced ROR providers, looking to improve their effectiveness in using the book and giving guidance in the exam room.

Here is an example of one of the video vignettes used in the new training program. This one features Dr. Sean Palfrey and his patient Youcef at the critical 5-year-old well-child checkup - when Dr. Palfrey determines that Youcef is ready to enter kindergarten!
