Reach Out and Read for Supporters

National Sponsors of Reach Out and Read

Reach Out and Read is grateful to our past and present National Sponsors. Thanks to their generosity and commitment to our mission, Reach Out and Read is able to serve millions of children in need nationwide, and prepare them for success in school.

Reach Out and Read has developed strong partnerships with the following National Sponsors.

U.S. Department of Education

Every year since the year 2000, Reach Out and Read has received federal funding through the Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations bill, administered through the U.S. Department of Education's Fund for the Improvement of Education (FIE). The funding supports Reach Out and Read training, initiatives, and Programs nationwide.

W.K. Kellogg Foundation
Established in 1930, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation supports children, families, and communities nationwide as they strengthen and create conditions that propel vulnerable children to achieve success as individuals and as contributors to society. With $1.5 million in support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Reach Out and Read launched a three-year initiative to strengthen and expand programming for children in Michigan, Mississippi, and New Mexico. The funding will enable Reach Out and Read to serve an additional 30,000 children and families in the three states.

Target
One of America's largest retailers, Target has 1,740 stores in 49 states. Since 1946, the corporation has given 5 percent of its income to support communities in the areas of education, the arts, social services, and volunteerism. Through Target's partnership with Reach Out and Read, local Programs and national literacy initiatives receive support.

Primrose School Franchising Company
Primrose is a leading franchiser of early education centers, with 200 schools around the country. The schools serve the premium childcare consumer but remain measurably involved in providing charitable support to their communities. Through the Reach Out and Read partnership, Primrose families and franchisees around the country support low income children in their communities through an annual "Spring Fling." Franchisees received recognition for providing more than 80,000 books in 2009.

Jane's Trust

Jane's Trust supports organizations and projects which primarily benefit underserved populations and disadvantaged communities. With support from Jane's Trust, Reach Out and Read is strengthening its existing Programs in New England and expanding to serve even more children and families in need.
